Amanzimtoti
Tim closed off our Kings Speech Series with a powerful sermon on choosing the narrow gate and building our foundations on the rock. Our children’s church are busy practising for our Christmas play for the Christmas dinner and are extremely excited!
City Centre
Lunda preached in Zulu at Umbilo on Mt 5.6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness …”. Thereafter he preached from the same verse in English at City Centre Durban.
At City Centre, 7 children committed their lives to Jesus Christ. We continue being so grateful to God that so many children from the nearby flats and night shelters are attending the Sunday School.
Downtown
This week at Downtown, we had Luke lead worship which was awesome. People brought prophetic words and there was a big emphasis during worship on the immense love of God and that nothing can separate us from His love.
We have been working through the book of Ephesians. This week, Nick preached on knowing and understanding your worth and focused on the scripture in Ephesians 4: “I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, entreat you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called.’ We had an awesome discussion around this scripture with people sharing on what it means to them and how we can live as people who know their worth in Christ. We then had a great time praying over one another and calling out the gold in each others’ lives!
This past weekend we also had #DowntownTrail. One of the Downtown members started a trail running group and they took part in their very first trail run in Maweni!

Frontier Church
During the week we had felt to be expectant for Sunday and to have church at our home. We are learning the art of hospitality and one of things that we have become very aware of is that it is not about how perfect the home is or how expensive the coffee but rather the warm, genuine welcome and the ability to make a person feel comfortable (at home)… so relaxed that they are willing to hear our message, so engaged they forget their circumstances and leave reminded that they have a destiny and purpose outside of themselves.
This Sunday we had lots of visitors, we were mindful of the scripture “Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!” Mikes teaching was titled ‘Expectancy’ this led to a lot of ministry afterwards as people shared their hearts. We are excited to see people stepping into their gifts. Prophesying, laying on of hands, exhortation and praying for each other.
What a joy it is to watch peoples lives be permeated with the fragrance of Christ.
Hillcrest
This past Sunday we were reminded about the unchanging nature of God in the way God shows his love to us. Ty and his team lead us in “Your love never fails, it never gives up, it never runs out on me” – a great reminder of where to look in an ever changing world. A great morning worshipping Jesus!
We had the privilege of having Peter share with us about the apostolic heart for the church, and then went on to unpack his message on the
i. importance of mission,
ii The enemy (and taking the rest of your life to be an irritation to the enemy) and finally about
iii. The heart for people – and that it essentially is al about having a heart for people. It was a great reminder that people matter to God, and therefore they should matter to us. Peter called the church to – what can only be referred to as a “Braveheart” moment – to pick a fight…a fight that counts for the kingdom! We need to get moving, and we can’t wait anymore.
At K-RAD, Dusty and Tanielle had between 60-70 youth, where 5 x youth made personal commitments to follow Jesus, and at CItyHill Kids, we had many testimonies of Kids hearing from God and acting on their faith – so amazing!
At our evening meeting we had the privilege of hosting Greg & Michelle Haswell – and here too, God spoke in a powerful way as Greg preached on “Claiming Inheritance” – he pointed out that so many people have been set free at the point of salvation, but live as slaves, and that we need to change our mindset to line up with that of the Word. The service ended with a great response from people coming up to be prayed for.

uMhlanga
uMhlanga had a really good weekend.
On Saturday we hosted the memorial service of our oldest member, who passed away at 85 the previous week. It was outstanding as a tremendously light hearted celebration of her life.
Both Sunday meetings went well, with Sunday evening being one of those meetings where the Holy Spirit moves and we don’t get to preach. Both meetings had walk in visitors.
On Monday night we had a Looking In for new folks which was great.
Waterfall
We were privileged to have Steve and Jacqui with us on Sunday. Tim Brown and the team led us in worship, and Steve preached a great message of encouragement, from the life of Joseph in the Old Testament. We had a number of people respond to the altar call, and quite a few people came forward for prayer after the service.
They then joined us for our leaders training time, where Steve spoke to us about the top five habits of great leaders. It was a real blessing to have them with us, and we would like to say a big thank you to them for spending the morning with us.
On a slightly different note. Our ladies ministry, Radiant, has proved to be a really great outreach to the ladies in our area. On Saturday morning they celebrated their final meeting of the year with a tea at the Church. They had a really great time together, and it was so exciting to see ladies from all age groups, and walks of life, coming out to enjoy the morning together.
