Amanzimtoti

We had a fantastic Sunday! Sifiso preached for his first time and he did brilliantly, he preached on knowing Gods presence during the storms of our lives. He left us with great nuggets of wisdom.
On Sunday evening we had an outdoor worship event Ignite 2015 – it was an amazing time of worshipping our King! Everyone loved it and have asked for us to do it more often😀

Cato-Ridge

We had a great meeting on Sunday. Craig led praise and worship from the drums which although challenging worked well. We are very excited that Emmanual has joined the music team and is an amazing guitarist.

Gavin preached on Necessary Endings. We need new wine skins for the new wine. What does God want us to put down so that we can be effective in growing His Kingdom.
We were approached by an organisation called Little Fighters to assist with a Princess themed birthday party for a 3 year old who has had to have her bladder removed because of cancer and is having ongoing cancer treatment. So wonderful to see the generous hearts of the people, A bed was donated by a company that wouldn’t deliver to Hammarsdale. Jody co-ordinated and delivered everything on the Friday for the party on Saturday. We were able to get her a duvet and  linen as well. These are some photos sent by the mom.

City Centre

Greetings. Sorry about the delay in sending feedback. I include some pics taken from the meal after the City Centre worship service; you can select the ones you want. Herewith feedback from the two services:

Lunda preached in isiZulu at Umbilo from the Beatitudes Mt 5.6 “ Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.” Then Thomas Kjaer from City Hill Pinetown (originally from Denmark …) preached about faith from Heb 11.1 emphasizing that faith is a test of our patience, but that pride is a hindrance to our faith.

Thereafter all participated in a fellowship meal.

Downtown

This week we had Graham Reardon join us and share about his recent mission trip to the Syrian Refugee Camps in Thessaloniki.
It was a very encouraging evening and we had a time of ministry afterwards for people who wanted prayer. A few people asked for ministry and were encouraged with prayer and prophetic words.

Graham also shared on the scripture in Ephesians 1:18 which speaks about knowing the hope to which God has called us too. This was particularly awesome as we have been focusing on this the past few weeks and working through the book of Ephesians. There is a strong emphasis at the moment on loving the poor in our city and what’s been awesome to see is that Downtown members truly do take ownership of our city . Our prayer is that God would give us creative direction in facilitating outreach and loving our city well.

Greece

Embo

We had a very special guest preacher – PADE Tokun, the former international director of CAPRO who is visiting SA for a series of seminars. Pade preached on ‘Now We Really Live’ from 1Thess 3:8 and stirred us to victorious Christian living as he showed us the challenge of and the way of standing firm in our position and calling as believers. Five people responded to the invitation to salvation.

We had a good attendance of our regular people. We have begun taking monthly special offerings towards our building fund. There is a lot of excitement about the building.

We had visitors after service from the Hillcrest site led by Iain and Lara Jordaan.

Eston

Eston had a great Sunday service where Gus preached a message on Corporate worship and the importance of coming together in unity to Glorify God. God is definitely establishing foundation for the year ahead. What is exciting as mentioned by the leaders is the new buzz among the congregation. There is definitely an air of expectancy and a new found sense of family.

Frontier Church

We had an amazing weekend! Sharing a message at Golden Warriors in Hillcrest, on Friday was a blessing. On Saturday we facilitated a wedding, it was a very special, intimate ceremony with only their closest family members present.

Sunday service was held outside under the cool shade of trees, once again testimonies of healing and restoration encouraged us all.
Mike shared on Nicodemus (a pharisee) and how he was changed by his meeting with Jesus. We were challenged to ask ourselves how are people changed by an encounter with us? Would we be willing to be open about our faith and stand for Jesus? There was much discussion and ministry afterwards.

We are growing by the week and seeing families coming to Christ is such joy. Sunday evening we had a phone call from one of our new families who have been trusting for the salvation of their oldest son. We had spent the afternoon at their home.  The call was to ask us to pray with him as he had accepted Jesus as his saviour. It is humbling to be part of this incredible journey.

Hillcrest

This week was a really special Sunday as we had the privilege of dedicating six babies. It’s always a really wonderful moment when you see families and friends standing together in front of the Church bringing words of encouragement and deep, heart-felt prayers for those they love, but also a great reminder of the importance of community in raising children!

Dusty and the team lead us in worship, and a number prophetic words were brought during this time. Steve followed on with our Thessalonians Series, and spoke about the importance of doing a “Spiritual Self-Audit”. This was particularly pertinent as he shared about the Parable of the seed and soil, and how it applies to everyone, and showed how in some parts of our lives we have different kinds of “soil” and encouraged the Church to again  look to Jesus to speak into these areas, and allow Him to transform our lives.
In other church news, we have the “love in a bucket” drive and Embo building offering coming up, so this is a wonderful opportunity for us to exercise generosity!
On a whole, we had a wonderful Sunday, and still remain in awe of the work God in this place!

Pinetown

We had a wonderful Sunday. Douglas and his team did a great job of leading worship and Fanie and El-Mari preached on the topic: “Wild Water” We had a amazing time of ministry after the service and saw people repent and receive prophetic words.

Waterfall

On Friday evening we had a family night which was great fun. We had a bring and share pudding evening and we played games like Bingo and Beetle drive. Everyone had a great time, especially the kids, and it was great to see young and old enjoying the evening together. On Sunday James preached the first message in our new series on Jonah. In preparation for this series we’ve asked our small groups, and the congregation to partner with us, by praying for the series, and being intentional in inviting their friends and family to church. On Sunday we had a number of people respond to the altar call and we are really trusting that this is the beginning of things to come.
